Nebbiolo is one of the oldest red grape vines of Piedmont. According to some, it is named after the word “Nebbia” (fog), because, due to its late ripening, it is harvested in the autumn when the first fog arrives. This wine is aged in big wooden casks of 30hl, where it remains for 24 months, plus anothe 6 months in the bottle. At the nose is intense and delicate with hints of fruits of the forest, raspberries, cherries soaked in alcohol and liquirice. The taste is full bodied, persistant, intense and tannic. Food pairings: red meat, seasoned cheeses and game.
