This pretty hand made terracotta herb pot contains aromatic dried Calabrian oregano.
Dried oregano has a potent aroma and flavour and is used all over Italy (but particularly in the south) in many different recipes. The dish most associated with oregano is of course pizza, with the Pizza Marinara topped simply with tomato, garlic, oil and oregano. It works well with many tomato dishes and is often added to a caprese salad or sprinkled on a bruschetta drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.

Our new supplier in Calabria, Southern Italy is 'Casarecci di Calabria'. We love both the taste of their superior quality products and their great packaging.
This family firm, established in 1998 is located in the Sila Mountains. Like many of our producers Casarecci di Calabria use old fashioned recipes to create old fashioned products, once the staples of any Southern Italian family and now sought after delicacies.
